Amy Winehouse
Winehouse byla americkou jazzovou, reggaovou a soulovou zpěvačkou. Narodila se do londýnské židovské rodiny lékárnice a taxikáře. Už v deseti letech si se svoji nejlepší kamarádkou založila amatérské duo. Profesionálně začala zpívat o šest let později.
Už od dětských let to byla rebelka. Ať už ve škole (několikrát ji dokonce změnila) nebo doma. V pubertě na ni dolehl rozvod rodičů, i když si s nimi udržela hezký vztah. Později byla však ve vztahu s Blake Fielder-Civilem, kterého si i vzala a právě on ji seznámil s tvrdými drogami.
První album „Frank“ jí vyšlo v roce 2003 a shledalo úspěch. V Británii se drželo na předních příčkách a i od kritiků obdržela převážně pochvaly. Druhou desku se jménem „Back to Black“ vydala o tři roky později a bylo naplněno mnohem smutnějšími někdy až depresivními skladbami. To měl za vinu především bouřlivý rozchod s přítelem a řešení vnitřních problémů alkoholem. Za toto album získala cenu Grammy. Na předávání se bohužel ale z důvodu obtíží s drogami nepodívala. K jejím nejznámějším písním patří např. „Rehab“ nebo „Stronger than Me“.
Amy byla ve svém domě dne 23. července 2011 nalezena mrtvá. Po několika měsících byla jako příčina smrti uvedena otrava alkoholem spojená s bulimií. V době své smrti jí bylo 27 let, což ji zařadilo do tzv. Klubu 27. Tento název seskupuje hudebníky, kteří nečekaně zemřeli ve 27 letech. Známá zůstává především pro svůj skvělý alt a mixování žánrů.
