Michael Jackson: „King of Pop“
Michael Jackson, hudební skladatel, ikona popu byl afroamerický hudební talent, který se stal třetím nejprodávanějším interpretem po The Beatles a Elvisi Presleym. Jeho desky Thriller (1982), Bad (1987), Dangerous (1991) a HIStory (1995) patří mezi nejznámnější v oblasti pop music. Album Thriller je s významným náskokem nejprodávanějším albem všech dob, prodalo se jej 110 mjilion kusů.
Jakcson se narodil v roce 1958 ver městě Gray, Indiana, USA. V útlém věku projevil značné nadání, od roku 1964 hrál v rodinné skupině Jackson 5, která mu pomohla najít tu správnou dráhu. Roku 1971 se Michael osamostatnil a po deseti letech tvrdého úsilí přišel prudký zlom. 1982 totiž vydal album Thriller.
Album Thriller (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PpUtKCNYHJ8) nabylo jen hudební album, ale kulturní fenomén. Písně jako „Billie Jean“, „Beat It“ a „Thriller“ se stali okamžitýmy hity. Jacksonovy inovativní hudební videa, taneční choreografie a pohyby, jako moonwalk a antigravitační předklon, změnily tvář popové hudby.
Michael Jackson v roce 1996 navštívil ČR, na Letné se na něj bylo podívat 120 000 diváků. Celé tourné, HIStory, doprovázela kolosální socha Michaela Jacksona. Michael Jackson ale trpěl dvěmi kožními onemocnění, Vitiligo a Lupus, které postupně zbleďovali jeho pokožku. Bohužel zemřel roku 2009 a předávkování lékem propofol a lorazepam.
