Rok 2024 je rokem české hudby. Do seznamu byla zařazena i Libuše od Bedřicha Smetany.
Úvahy nad tím, zda je či není opera Libuše vrcholným dílem Bedřicha Smetany v kontextu jeho ostatních zpěvoher či dokonce v kontextu celé české operní tvorby, zda a jak obstojí před bezprostředností Prodané nevěsty.
Úhel pohledu, který Libuši přísluší nejpřirozeněji, je dán již samotným záměrem jejího autora a z něj plynoucí tradicí. Smetana určil Libuši k provádění při slavnostních příležitostech.
